Accept Your Gift, Own Your Talent!

Accept Your Gift, Own Your Talent!

Some people struggle with unsettling feelings and thoughts of commonality. Believing that we should just go along with the flow of things and eventually we will blend in with the majority rule, looking and talking like those who have accomplished what we desire to achieve.

I'm not quite sure that this is a very good thought pattern to adopt.

Yes, as believers and followers of Christ, we want to be set apart to do the work of Him who called us to faithfulness and righteousness in our everyday lifestyle, being of one mind and spirit. However, let's talk about our God given gifts and talents.

No one has been created to be just alike. Each of us are uniquely designed with a God given purpose. God did not skip over any one of us when He endowed us with gifts and talents. Each and everyone of us have innate skills and abilities. Granted, certain people do share similarities in area's of professions, occupations and ministry work. However, as children of the Most High God, we're most productive if we operate in our connate functions and potentials.

" Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering, or he that teacheth, on teaching, Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness." Romans 12:6-9

Some of us may desire to operate in a certain function and even believe that it's God's will for our lives. Although this may be consciously good, it's not best. God wants us to do His will and His will, only.

Struggling to know God's will can be tiring and frustrating to say the least. This is the reason for some of us who are operating outside of His will

One thing is for sure, we all have been called to be a light in a dark place and to tell others about God's love and His Salvation in Christ. Taking a personal inventory of ourselves will help to eliminate a lot of confusion we may be having.

Ask yourself....

1. Do I enjoy teaching children...If so, working with youth/children ministry may be your calling. Perhaps writing children's books, or an elementary teacher.

2. Do I have a passion to help the poor, displaced or homeless...If so, missionary work may be your calling. Or, maybe working in the non-profit sector or maybe even social equality causes.

3. Do I feel comfortable with speaking one-on-one or large crowds...If so, Public Speaking, Pastoral Care or even counseling may work best for you.

Whichever direction that the Lord leads you in, and believe me, you will know when it's God leading you, because you won't be able to shake the feeling or remove the thought from you mind, "Accept Your Gifting, Own Your Talent!" You and those you are in touch with, will be the better for it.

P.S. Sometimes, God will call you to do something you don't want to, it's at that point that your birthing call, begins.

Blessings to all and Always Stay Encouraged!
