A Prayer of Forgiveness, Repentance and Humility

Father God,
For it is written, Your house will be called a "House of Prayer."
A gathering place, where believers come together and pray for one another, in spirit and in truth.
Somewhere along the way, Lord, we have gotten caught up with the entertainment of things, human wisdom and insight, blinded by selfish ambitions of what we think and believe is Your purpose.
We claim ourselves to be great, but we neglect the principle thing, "To Serve". That was Your command, "For those who desire to be great - must serve."
Lord, forgive us. We have used the gifts and abilities that You have given us, for our own personal gain - O' that mankind would see us, that we may be elevated among ourselves and others, claiming that You are lifting us to an elevated platform.
We have brought that lie.
This could only be so, if we are humble, serving others, and bringing glory to Your name, not ours.
Lord, forgive us. We have lost our way. For it's never about us, but, You, Always.
Bring us back to our humble beginnings, Lord. Our first love, Let us not be caught up in the grand scheme of things. For this is not Your will for us.
We ask all these things in Jesus', name, Amen.

Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
