Joshua 1:9 (NKJV) 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
We as humans, are subject to things that easily beset us. The enemy is well aware of this, and at every turn, seeks to deter us from our righteous path. The enemy, be it without, or within us, uses every possible means of trickery to influence our choices.
Most times, it is not the outside influences that are most effective, but our own fears, compounded by our lack of confidence and fragile faith.
We become anxious, thinking the world and our fortune is passing us by. We become envious, thinking others are doing better than we are, and our greed grows, blinding us with fear, disbelief and hopelessness.
At this point, delusion sets in. We begin to formulate plans, to acquire immediate gratification.
We no longer hear the voice that says (“Be Still and know that I am God”), we no longer believe that God has a plan for us, so we no longer seek His direction.
We forget that when Joshua was afraid, God told him to get into the Word, meditate on it, speak it out loud, read it, listen to it, and surround ourselves with the purity, and potency of God’s Word, to delete the enemy from our sphere of thinking.
2 Corinthians 10:4-5(NKJV) 4 “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ”
To be successful is not determined by us thinking we are in control, and all powerful by ourselves. Because, that kind of power comes from choices that leads us further astray. We end up committing atrocities against God’s precepts, and the consequences can be very severe, yet, we seldom realize that they are our consequences, not God’s punishment.
God told Joshua; Joshua 1:7-8(NKJV)
7 Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go.
8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
To overcome fear, we must align our thoughts with the Word of God. Our weapon against the enemy’s lies, is God’s truth. God’s truth, activates our strength, with authority to overcome adversity within our thoughts and the influences of the world. God’s word aligns us with His immediate ability to be present, in our lives, in all circumstances.
When the enemy tries to defeat us with illusions, turn to the Word, find the truth in His promise, and declare the truth! In so doing, we take every corrupt thought, captive. “We must guard our hearts and minds”
Proverbs 4:23 (NKJV) 23 “Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.
Be alert to every notion that enters our thinking, and measure it against God’s Word. Let the Holy Spirit, which abides with us, and in us, fill us to overflowing, until all fear dissipates. The Word is our armor and our shield, against fear.
Philippians 4-8 8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
Be Blessed always in Love and Light!
