Common life events such as pondering the future, relocating, moving, job search, beginning a new school or job, illness or injury, wedding planning, having a baby, dealing with disobedient children, marriage infidelity, fear of death and certain medications are a few things that can evoke anxieties.
The overwhelming feelings associated with anxiety can certainly lead to uncontrollable worry about things beyond one's control. It is easy to fall into the slump of living life for tomorrow since life most of the time, don't adhere to your goals and aspirations.
We have all said the following quotes at some point and time in our lives: "Tomorrow things will get better", "We can start over tomorrow", or "I will do this or that tomorrow". We place a lot of faith in tomorrow but in reality,
"Tomorrow is not guarantee to anyone, no expectations no disappointment" (Moyo Adekoya).
Jesus speaking about tomorrow said, "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." (Matthew 6:34)
What I learn from Jesus teaching is this,
"You can never transfer your troubles, concerns, plans, goals to tomorrow as tomorrow can only be filled when it becomes your today." (Minister Gail Adams)
I encourage you to follow Christ teaching on the subject of tomorrow. Live for today and "Don't be so preoccupied with focusing on tomorrows's possibilities or problems that you miss out on what's happening in your life today."
Deal with your life happens hard ships, trials and tribulations the best way you can and then trust God to handle things beyond your reach and control. That is called,
"Walking by Faith and not by Sight."
It is my hope that these encouraging words brings gladness to your hearts!
