Engaging in the Word ☕️
by: Minister Gail Adams
Today the Holy Spirit gave me the poem below that led to this message.
“While you sleep you fantasize about her sweet kisses. But the woman in your dreams is not your Mrs. She promises to fulfill your wildest passions in every way. I will ask God to forgive me later your say. Now, let me partake and satisfy my appetite of her wares today. So let me take off my ring and I lock my regrets momentarily away. Oh man please listen fight lust and keep your passions at bay. “Put your ring back on your finger,” I hear the Holy Spirit say. Flee adultery and fornication, from these sins renew your mind and turn your heart from them away. Because the prayers of regret you put off for later you may not get to do! Are you willing to take that chance knowing anytime Death could come for you? Seconds, minutes, or hours, he can com any time even today. What if he suddenly appears saying times up, it will be too late to pray. Ah, I got time and this passion I can’t no longer delay. Satan laughs and say got cha! I deceived him to believe that no one will see him commit adultery today.” "Stolen water is sweet; And bread eaten in secret is pleasant. But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell.” (Proverbs 9:17)
Bad wives, evil wives, unsubmissive wives, argumentative wives are common excuses men give for adultery. Many Pastors in pulpits worldwide those who have and have not succumb to this sin, use the Bible to create sermons on what they consider to be the great damages wives commit to cause husbands to fall prey to sexually immoral women they refer to as whores. Yet, the bible have several scriptures about whoremongers (sexually immoral men) but never preached about in the pulpits. Do tell....😲
A favorite scripture given in support of their campaign blaming wives for their spouses infidelity comes from Solomon, one of the wisest men on earth. It says, “It is better to live in a corner of a roof than in a house shared with a contentious woman.” (Proverbs 21:9) While King Solomon was wise and very reflective in his upper head, he proved to be unwise and unreflective with his lower head. Yes, I agree that the statement about his two heads are risque, but the truth of the statement stands tall anyway.
Undeniably, King Solomon was considered to be a great and wise man. Many in Christianity have applied his reflections and wisdom in our lives. A popular reflection of his frequently taught is the concept that all is vanity. King Solomon proved later by his own life, the truth of his statement evident by his multiple marriages and wives, how vanity leads to adultery. Stop right there Beaute’! God permitted Solomon to have all those wives, you say in his defense. I beg to differ, for the reason that Solomon in the book of Proverbs speaking about the adulterous woman proved that the act was frowned upon during his day. Proverbs 22:14 -The mouth of an adulterous woman is a deep pit; a man who is under the LORD’s wrath falls into it.
King Solomon in the book of Proverbs also wrote about prostitutes and the consequences of sleeping with another man’s wife saying, “For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life. Can a man take fire in his bosom and his clothes not be burned? Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned? So he that goeth in to his neighbor’s wife; whosoever touches her shall not be innocent” (Proverbs 26-29). It is high time we stop rewriting and rephrasing scriptures making them out to be or say what we want them to be in order to justify and make excuses for sins.
If you do not remember nothing else from my messages remember this: “Because God permit sin does not mean he approves of sin.” Free will does exist even though there are naysayers who alleges that God does not give man free will to choose right and wrong behavior. Humph, God watched Solomon from heaven marry all of those women and did not interfere with his free will decisions. Like Jesus told the Jews who knew the law as Solomon knew the law, "If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains. The fact that God gave Solomon wisdom and understanding attest to the fact that he was not blind to sin.
King Solomon was not blind to sin he was a brilliant and wise man with exceptional comprehension who knew and understood God’s law. The law said in Deuteronomy 17:17, "He shall not multiply wives for himself, or else his heart will turn away; nor shall he greatly increase silver and gold for himself.” You still believe God permitted Solomon’s adultery? Then read what the prophet said about him. And Nehemiah the prophet said this of Solomon, “Was it not because of marriages like these that Solomon king of Israel sinned? Among the many nations there was no king like him. He was loved by his God, and God made him king over all Israel, but even he was led into sin by foreign women”. Lust that is out of control make for bad appetites.
“A good name is to be more desired than great wealth, Favor is better than silver and gold. (Eccles 7:1). I guess King Solomon distracted by his marriages failed to remember his own words
. What we learn from Prophet Nehemiah’s statement about King Solomon is that God does not permit polygamy (multiple marriages) or adultery among his people. Although God loved Solomon, he did not overlook his sin. You can contradict God’s word but you will not be able to avoid the consequences as a result of denying and ignoring God’s word as in seen in the King Solomon's case.
Is the lust of the world and out of control passions the only factors proving to be fatal to the souls of men and women? No, they have help. It is also false teachers, who deliver sugar coated doctrines of the gospel with flattery; who lack boldness and courage, preaching lies to pacify men and women for memberships and tithes, while turning a blind eye to godly correction, to give them the liberty to lusts, which has help Satan to destroy thousands of souls.
Erotic fleshly lust stupefies the sense of right and wrong. As wind blow out flames uncontrolled lust blows out the sparks of conviction. Men and women, “Put your ring back on your finger,” the Holy Spirit say. Flee adultery and fornication, from these sins renew your mind and turn your heart away.” Whoever commits adultery be it man or woman know that your spouse is not the reason for your sin. Stop blaming others for your actions and own up to your own sins.
Men love your wives as Christ loves the Church. As Jesus said he no longer calls us slaves but friends therefore treat your wife as your friend then your subservient mentality will cease in a house where two have become one flesh. My prayer always is that we continue to grow in grace, truth, wisdom and walk in love towards one another. Help others benefit from this truth by sharing this message! God bless you.
