When resourcing supportive information, facts and analysis there are several important things to consider.
Information found in books vs. Information found electronically.
Although many will agree that books will never be totally replaced by visual electronic content, it is wise to keep in mind:
Up-To-Date Online Articles
Vlogs
Podcast
Visual Media
provide: new theories, discoveries and research results that's first presented.
Books hold there weight for indexing long term research, experience on a certain topic and creditable expert findings on subject matter. However, in this fast paced global society of new found discoveries, electronics has raised the bar for getting important and agog content out to the public in a matter of hours, even minutes.
Yes, we must cross examine all findings and validate resource findings whether from a book or electronically - making sure that the information holds creditable and proves valid.
It would behoove us to engage in both methods, applying: end notes/footnotes, quotes and referencing the source found for a well constructed read, presentation or speech.
