Spring has Sprung Forth
Just like a farmer
You plant, You seed
You water.
You look out through the window of hope and anticipation
waiting for the arrival of the small blade
breaking its way to the surface
your harvest finally assured.
Now prayers go up
– keeping away the elements, nuisance pestilence
and all their compadre’s
You sit still
grasps for air
You pair the same breath with your seed,
surfaced dreams, displayed as a blade.
Then one day
the spring has sprung
Just as it was intended to Be.
You smile
Grasps for air
Exhale
Your dream has finally sprung free.
